The Cherokee County Council PTA voted on and adopted the following resolution at this year's School of Information. It was subsequently presented at the August Board of Education meeting in support of our Cherokee County Board of Education members.

RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT

WHEREAS, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee County School Board has made it a priority to ensure meaningful engagement of communities with their public schools; and

WHEREAS, the School Board, in accordance with its Board Ethics Policy, must render all decisions based on available facts and his or her independent judgment and refuse to surrender his or her judgment to individuals or special interest groups; therefore be it

RESOLVED, this 18th day of August, 2011, we personally thank all School Board Members for their service to the people of Cherokee County through this role and pledge our continued support of their service.
